This is a larva of a lady beetle (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae); likely Harmonia axyridis - see http://tinyurl.com/kwjwc2 for an image. Known as the Asian multi-colored lady beetle in North America and the harlequin ladybird in the UK (see http://nora.nerc.ac.uk/2552/), this is an introduced species that is considered invasive, and has been accused of displacing some native species in the USA. Nonetheless, these beetles are voracious predators on small soft-bodied insects such as aphids.
