Hiya, I am helping with a new community garden in Long Beach and suddenly realize I have no idea what to plant right now. If it were Spring or Fall no problem but seems like cole family trasplants would not make it throught the coming heat and warm season stuff would not mature before the cold and wet. Any ideas? I want to know what transplants would work and what seeds can be sown directly. Unusual stuff is fine.
what veggies can I plant NOW
Tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers are fine right now - but you may need to use some shade cloth if LB is getting hot days right now. After about a week or so, they should be okay to uncover, but the transplanting will be tough if the heat keeps up.
Toodianic, try posting to the beginner veg forum. You'll get lots of tips there.
