I am always moving things around. I move lots of roses and daylilies and now that I have lilies, some of those need moving too!
I have some PURPLE PRINCE trumpets that I plated too close to the asiatics in back of them. Plus I have some White trumpet hybreds that I bought from VB Wholesale. They were supposed to be all sorts of colors with a pattern but all I have are white ones. Want to move both of these. Plus I put a row of RED ALERT lilies I got from WoodenShoe this spring in back of a row of daylilies and I really hate the way that it looks. Have to move them out of there.
All these lilies just finished blooming and the stalks are green. Not sure when its safe to move them? Thanks!
When Can I Move Lilies?
It may not be ideal, but you can do it now. When moving lilies mid season, I like to dig the new location first so that I can hand-carry each bulb to it's new home. (otherwise I tend to knock too much soil off if transporting several) Take as much soil as possible around the bulb and stem roots; water them in well and they won't miss a beat.
