my daughter found it in her room dont know how it got there or anything but she swears it hissed at her.

anyone know what type of cricket this is? assuming its a cricket

I think it's a type of cricket, tree cricket maybe? I don't think it would hurt your daughter.

If it had very long antennae that were about 3-4x longer than its body, and it could jump many times its body length then it was a camel cricket. This is a female because of the ovipositor [egg laying organ] sticking out at the end of her abdomen. They are not harmful to people. They are often found in dark humid basements.
