I need advice from the lily experts

Milan, OH

I am new to the tiger lilies I have had this one for about 4 years and over the years it has multiplied to about 6 plants. I was in another post about bulbils so I asked are they the seeds on my lilies come to find out what I thought was seeds were bulbils.

I need help from the experts. When can I remove them from the plant and start them in another area? How far do I need to dig down in the ground to plant them and will the come up the following year as little tiger lilies? Also if I decide to trade some how do you go about doing this? Yes I have a lot of questions I am so intreged by these lilies that I found some yellow ones on a web site and they will be shipping to me soon. The person that I bought them from said that they would be digging them up from the ground and sending them to me the same day so when I get them I need to put them in the ground. They are bulbs from mature plants.

So if any one can answer any of my questions please I need the advice.

I am going to post a picture of my orange tiger lily.

Thanks so much for the information. I don't know just how I am going to start mine yet but I think I will find were I want them to start growing and put the bulbils there.
I sure hope it works.
