This just visited me in my bathroom. It's body was about 15mm in length (not counting the legs). Can anybody help me identify the species?
What species is this?
This spider is in the family Agelenidae (funnel web/grass spiders) and the genus Tegenaria. it most likely is Tegenaria atrica - see http://tinyurl.com/nl8ooy for an image. Large specimens can deliver a painful bite if mishandled, but otherwise are harmless to humans.
