Is this a friend or foe bug. Looks like a ladybug which is good right?
CLOSED: Friend or Foe - Ladybug?
i am not sure but i believe all ladybugs eat aphids.
This appears to be an Asian multicolored lady beetle (Harmonia axyridis), an introduced species that has been implicated in out-competing some native lady beetle species. It also has the bad habit of invading homes in large numbers in the autumn. Nevertheless, it is a voracious predator on aphids and similar insects. See http://tinyurl.com/2swe3t for more information. BTW, there are lady beetles that feed on foliage rather than aphids and the like. These 'black sheep' are in the genus Epilachna, the Mexican bean beetle and the squash beetle.
Thanks for your help!
