CLOSED: One more moth? fly?

Took this last month and forgot to ask about it. Do you know what is it?

This is a male black horse fly (Tabanus atratus; Diptera: Tabanidae). Its eyes are much larger than those of a female of the same species - see http://tinyurl.com/llty5c for an image.

I guess I was right to be a little scared of him! Horse flies bite right?

Females of this particular species prefers larger mammals such as cattle, horses, and hogs, but I imagine it wouldn't turn down a human meal if offered. However, males (such as this one) apparently feed only on nectar, and do not take blood meals.
