I took this with a macro lense by my porchlight at night, and it didn't come out as well as I'd hoped. Still,, I think it can probably be IDed. The tail is very strnge and caught my eye. Thanks!
CLOSED: Odd Moth
This is a sphinx moth (Lepidoptera: Sphingidae), but because of the angle from which the photo was taken, I hesitate to pin a specific name on it. Its overall shape is consistent with that of the lettered sphinx, Deidamia inscriptum - see http://tinyurl.com/n6rkqj for an image.
