This is a two-lined spittlebug, Prosapia bicincta (Hemiptera/Auchenorrhyncha: Cercopidae) - see http://tinyurl.com/nkvlwq for detailed information. They sometimes can be pests.

Thanks, I had never seen that one. It was the only one around so it probably won't cause too much damage.
