CLOSED: very large web

This one had built a web that stretched acrossed a small stream. The web was at least ten foot acrossed. The spider was 1 1/2 inches top to bottom... any ideas?

This appears to be a tropical orb weaver, Eriophora ravilla - see http://tinyurl.com/kla7vw for an image. They are harmless to humans.
