About an inch long, never seen this one before.
CLOSED: Is this a moth? Can you ID?
This is a skipper (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae), a family sometimes thought to be intermediate between moths and butterflies. It is in the subfamily Hesperiinae, known collectively as grass skippers; see http://tinyurl.com/m8dv78 for an example.
Thank-you very much for answering my question, very interesting info.
