Can you please send some wet stuff our way? It rains in town, but not here!
Halleluia !!! one half inch of rain in Arlington.
One of the girls at the office that lives about 20 minutes northwest of us gets rain a lot when we don't get a drop in town. Guess the grass is always greener!
It happens here too, I think it is affected by the air currents.
Just emptied the rain gauge from the last day and a half...1 1/2 inches. Must have had a pretty wild wind storm to go with it. Castor beans 7-8 feet tall were laid over on the ground. One of my patio umbrellas that I was using for a plant sun screen is wrong side out. Little enough to pay for such life saving water. As you say, everything just plumps up and puffs its chest out.

Just a 1/2" last night stopped this morning. Sun came out a several hours ago and the heat & humidity soared! Feels like a steam bath out there now.
You can also see mixed rainfall due to elevation drops. That happens all the time down here where the hill country drops into the blackland prairie. It will be right on top of us and disappear when it hits that drop off.
We got 1/2" yesterday and about 1/8" this morning about mid-morning. It was a fast quick rain, then let up. I'll take it, though!
I'm enjoying the cold front...had to put a light jacket on outside! We had a short sprinkle, wind, temps did a real nose-dive...Wowee! Feels terrific!
Well, I almost feel bad saying this, because there are so many people suffering from drought, but we got 3 inches last night, I just couldn't believe it when i looked at the gauge, and no wind or damage of any kind, very blessed indeed!!!
Josephine.
Josephine, we didn't get a lick on that rain last night. I was soooooo disappointed!
We have had 6-1/2" for the week course got 3-1/2 of that this morning ,just got off the phone with my Sis from Conroe who is visiting another sister in California and she was wondering if they had gotten any rain in Conroe...
I got a much needed 1/2" today. I just sat in the open greenhouse and watched it. It didn't last long, but it sure did a lot of good. I was just getting ready to start watering. I was saved by the bell this time.
Pastures are looking much better. There might be a second cutting due for some of the ranchers after all. We didn't fertilize so we won't be cutting ours. Sold the cows anyway, so don't need it for ourselves.

Conroe got 1/2 to 1 1/2 inches, depending on where you live! It covers a large area
We got 1 1/8" yesterday, and there's more in the forecast for Saturday
It is pouring down here in Johnson County, enough that we are finally getting some run-off into our stock pond, which was really getting low.

Woohoo!! We got over an inch of rain last night! No idea what it's done to the gardens, but I'm so thankful for the rain. We also had some pretty high winds. I was out "trimming" my garlic chives when the wind came through.
Okay, I'm going outside to trim my garlic chives! Anything else that might be making it rain?
LOL!! Trim away Linda!!
We got about an inch and half, and it didn't flood, nor did the electrical go out!! As for wind there was a few tall comos and the like blown around. Blessed I would say!
Well, here in The Topics aka Johnson County, we are having our daily rain storm - again. Can you believe this? Just wish those folks down south could have some of this.
