Fall lilium bulb trade?

Jamaica Plain, MA(Zone 6a)

Well I finally have some extras, as well as some I have only a few of, but will trade one of, for others I really want. Would love to arrange for a fall trade at digging time in advance, so I can mark the ones that will be going, and plan where things will go, as I have very limited space. I'm happy to trade more than one or several for unusual varieties I really want. I'm very partial to spotted recurved lilies, and for the most part, not too fond of orientals.

My haves:

l. lancifolium (orange turk's cap) - 3 to 5 bulbs, and bulbils
Pink Perfection (trumpet) - 2 bulbs
African Queen (trumpet) - 1 bulb
noid trumpet (see pic) - 3 bulbs
white tiger - 2 bulbs
Matrix - 3+ bulbs
Commander in Chief - 3+ bulbs
Suncrest - 1 bulb
Shocking - 1 bulb (I think, will know shortly for sure)
Tiny Sensation - 1 bulb
Blood Tiger - bulbils
Robinson's Comet - bulbils
(all bulbs above are blooming size)

My wants:
Awesome
Dots and Dashes
Embarrassment
Eurydice
Katinka
Kathy Jan
Schellenbaum
Polkadot Bikini
Suntan
l. luteum
Arena
martagons - any
deep red recurved spotted lilies

Adding: TINOS. I just heard from the Lily Nook, where I had ordered it, that they're not getting it in.

Please dmail any offers.
Thanks.

Geez, my poor bulbs are feeling like wallflowers.

No, no ~ not at all! :) It's just that my haves and wants are about the same as yours.

Thanks, Moby. That gives me a bit of encouragement. I expect in a few years more of my less common ones will have multiplied (if the lily beetles don't do them in), but by then I won't have room for any more new ones.

I have some of your wants just not enough yet to share!! I imagine that is the same with about everyone. A lot of these just don't multiply quickly and I mostly buy 1 bulb of a variety due to lack of space.

Schellenbaum did not appear this year. It was very pretty but a bit weak stemmed.

Polkadot Bikini needs to be left alone to get more blooming size bulbs. They are very small bulbs anyway! I have a list of folks wanting this one.

Arena only one stem still after 3 years....

WANTS
TOUCH/TOUCHING
Just about anything from Buggy!

HAVES... I have only an extra bulb of each.
SHOCKING
EYELINER
INVASION
BRUSHSTROKE
REGALE

Nanny, thanks for posting. I guess we're both in the same boat! I usually also just buy one bulb of a kind, so it takes quite a while to build up extras, unless it's a place where you have to buy in threes, and I don't usually buy from those places any more.

I bought from Buggy for the first time last year, so have no extras from her. I think I started with 3 regales a few years back, but think I only have 2 now. On the other hand, I had 1 shocking last year, and this year I have 2 fully grown ones and a youngster who also just bloomed at half height with one bloom. Guess you never know.

What I've been doing, as I have such limited sun space, is gradually putting some in areas with less sun to see how they'll do. This year, those grew and bloomed, but I still don't know how they'll do over time, or if they were shorter because of less sun or just that they were young bulbs or shorter varieties. This fall I'm planning on doing a bunch of bulb moving, to get them more color-coordinated, so I should find out next year how some of them do with less sun.

Anyway, maybe next year or the year after we'll be in a better position to trade for some of those we're lusting after (if we still have room)!

Mine all get sun from morning till noon and then shade the rest of the day and they do fine. BEV

Mine are in shade until afternoon then get sun rest of the day. They do okay but they do lean real bad! LOL

That's good to know. Maybe I have more room for lilies than I think!!!!
Even in my sunniest spots, though, I have a lot of big-time leaners too. I have to stake a goodly percentage of them.

Last try! I'm also willing to trade daylilies or anything else that's available on my have list for above lilies.

Thanks.

It's such a great idea, but the numbers I have are too few as I have split several times over the last few years.

Well thanks for liking the thought. You definitely have lilies to drool over!
