Hi everyone,
I found a bird on my porch. When I picked it up, these spiders were attached to it. The bird was paralyzed and I think they might have had something to do with it. Can someone please help identify this? Should I be worried?
Thanks for all your help

Bird-Paralyzing Spider!
It looks sort of like a Tick.
This is a fly in the family Hippoboscidae. Commonly known as louse flies, they are obligate blood feeders on birds and mammals; both winged (as yours) and wingless forms occur. See http://tinyurl.com/m5a5w4 for detailed information.
Thank you so much thats great. So i guess it wasn't the tick that paralysed our Joe (we named him) thanks again.
