I believe this is an Assassin Bug nymph, but I could be incorrect. Look it up if you'd like. I just found one of these on my mom's car :D

This is indeed a nymph of an assassin bug (Hemiptera/Heteroptera: Reduviidae), possibly that of a wheel bug (Arilus cristatus) - see http://tinyurl.com/nuad9s
Nymphs of this species change in appearance quite a bit as they develop.

oh i love these insects. i think the coolest thing is watching them catch food. careful they are known to have the most painful bite of any insect.

mid central, FL(Zone 9a)

i think they're cool too. i haven't been bitten, yet, but if it's worse than a black widow then i will be extra careful! lol

i wanted someone to kill me when i was bitten by a widow............

aww man really a widow i have heard terrible things about them!! But lucky me i haven't been bitten either I am a bug nut i love them, the funny part is i hate spiders. lol

i watched the assassin bug adult attack a bee and won i tried to get a picture of it but he was a little camera shy every time i got focused he took his prey under the leaf and hid. they are neat to watch, i have a bunch of them. i have not been bitten but have to heard that it is a painful bite.

that would have been really cool to see. does any one watch dirty jobs with mike rowe? well he had gone to a place that rears insects for zoos. when they fed them they got a close up of the attacks. I have had a lot of insects for pets but my favorite was my praying mantis. I had this huge female she posed for cameras.in fact i have a picture of her i don't think its a good picture of her but its the only one i have. i forgot a was in the picture. :)
