My lily of the nile doesn't bloom. It bloomed last year, it was in the ground in full sun and started looking badly so i dug it up and put it in pots in the shade under my pergola and it is looking much healthier but has not bloomed and my sister's just a few miles away has. Anyone got any suggestions. tnx bunches

I'm curious about an answer to your question as well. I started some Agapanthus from seed last year and they're developing nicely- hoping they'll be blooming size next year.
You may have more responses to your question in the Perennials forum, as this one is devoted to true Lilies, the genus Lillium. Folks with more expertise with Agapanthus are likely to see it there.
Best of luck!
Tnx gemini Im new to the forum, it will take me a little while to catch on.
I'm guessing its one or both of two factors: Upset for one season from the move and/or it dislikes growing in a pot. If you can plant it in the ground in the shade it might be happier. I've grown them from seed too but with no extra room in my garden I gave the seedlings to my neighbor where they grow under their cedar tree. I can still enjoy them through the fence!
pard, have those you started from seed bloomed? I'm curious how old they need to be to bloom.
I think it was 3-4 years. I had plum forgotten about giving away the seedlings until my neighbor came to me one day asking about them and told me I gave them to her when I gave her my puzzled look. I give away a lot of stuff like that because I don't have room to grow them out. My satisfaction comes from conquering the seed germination:-)
