Dills Atlantic Giant Pumpkins Part 3

I don't grow very many veggies. I don't have freezer space if I did grow a lot of veggies. I rather buy veggies as I need them. Hubby cannot eat veggies with vitamin K-----all your leafy veggies plus some. He doesn't like bellpepper.
I grow tomatoes, corn, okra. I love turnip greens. I am goin to grow some in the bare patch spaces in Sept. The left overs put some nitro in the ground. I like to grow a few cabbage and cauliflower. Thats pretty much it.

We had lots of rain yesterday and lots of rain during the night and lots of rain this morning, and more this evening. Sigh. Too much rain in the patch.

I like the Action Hoe. It does a nice job getting rid of the weed seedlings and leaving the soil in place. Use the Action Hoe a few minutes every day and weeds wont be so bad. In the big unused areas, I use a tiller once a week. I am trying to kill out most of the seeds that are still in the soil Now so I can grow with less weed seedlings next year. Everytime I till, it brings seeds to the surface enough that they can germinate---then I till again .

Ya I wondering what an action hoe is too.

Amig. LOL. That too funny. Ya eaier to buy the veggie sf rom the store. Youd efinately need to do six pumpkins. heck try for 8 go big time. LOL ; )

Oh, it's a scuffle hoe.

Moss Point, MS(Zone 8b)

Scuffle hoe, stirrup hoe, hula hoe.....by whatever name, every gardener that plants in the dirt needs one. They're absolutely the cheapest, easiest, safest and quickest way to effectively control weeds I know of if you grow with open spaces, such as in rows.

898 pumpkin did not grow much during our long down pouring Flood.
It did better the next day. Hoping the next 24hours will grow enough to match the benchmark at 10days old. I never got around to putting down mill fabric or making a tent yet.
The giant pumpkin growers have benchmark charts. 1000 pound chart and over 1200 pound chart. The pumpkins should have grown so many inches in circumference by a certain day in hopes for a 1000 pounder.
this list is the 1000 pound benchmark chart.
Day 10= 25"
Day 20= 68"
Day 30= 108"
Day 40= 134"

Today, 9 DAP, 21 1/2 inches CC.
