Can anyone identify this pest? They've invaded my gardens. Does anyone have a safe solution for getting rid of them?
Thanks!
J. Fleming

These are nymphs of the eastern boxelder bug, Boisea trivittata (Hemiptera/Heteroptera: Rhopalidae) - see http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/614/. They primarily are nuisance pests, as they feed on the developing seeds of maples and ash trees, and should not damage anything in your garden. See http://tinyurl.com/nrlf5m for control recommendations.
