A duck on a pond

Aww, what an adorable little sweetie. Love the loving eyes she's giving you mama. How will you ever be able to separate, from such cute, innocent, charming eyes !!! I'm so jealous right now, I want to take it off your hands.:) You must be, a very proud mama .

She's pretty darn cute. She poos a lot though! She's settled into her crate now, I think she really likes it.

Sheri, Nope, she does not do the upside down dive yet. Most of her food is the bugs in the rocks, no need to search on the bottom. She had decided to take up jumping though and tries to jump out of my hands while walking to the pond. Stinker! SO… now she has to go out in a covered basket. Maybe I could take her on the scooter in that basket, like Toto! hee.

I hope the rehabber will keep sending me pictures to share with you of her up to her release.

Marna, have you noticed her little tail feathers falling out? She will lose those and then begin to add feathers all over. I just did not want you to wonder if there was something wrong with her...

Well, it may have already started...I cannot remember when Mallards drop these fine little feathers.

okay. I've been looking for some info on age/stages. Can't seem to find much yet.

I do hope that rehabber will send updated photos. Maybe you could tell them that ducky has a bunch of aunts and uncles that would love to hear and see how she's growing.

I think that can be arranged as she sent me a picture of the mallard she is rehabbing that fell asleep on her grand daughter.

I am really trying to picture you walking around with this little duck following you...LOL! She is just adorable....and you are doing great!

I'm happy to announce that she is 3 ounces now! She's doubled her weight in a week!

Got some pix today, but haven't downloaded. Check back tomorrow!
