Need help IDing Convolvulus sp.

Toronto, ON(Zone 5b)

Hello,

Just recently found patches of naturalized morning glories around my area. I do not know my species, and any help would be great

The one below has big blooms almost like a Japanese morning glory. It twines and grows up. I found this by my school and hopefully the maintenance people will not touch it.

Eliz - That's absolutely gorgeous bloom! It's large? How amazing to be a "wild" MG! Looks too fancy to be a wild one! :-) I hope you get seeds or can dig it up! Keep us posted. :-)

So pretty.

oh it's pretty big. I saw a field of field bindweed by my workplace, they were tiny and cute. This one is huge compared to field bindweed; bigger than 5 cm, less than 10 cm.....around 6-8 cm..the leaves are big too. I might go ask the maintenance ppl if I can dig the little ones up, but it looks pretty to be killed in my opnion. Well usually the leaves, when they're just leaves, they get pulled even before they bloom up here. I see leaves like that everywhere and alot of ppl think they do not look good in their landscape.

I saw it because I stopped to talk to my dad and while he was talking to me, I saw this behind him and I was like.. Hellloooo lol.

But will definitely save the seeds for those interested collecting bindweeds according to locality. same with the field bindweed and other wild convolvulus.

It's Calystegia sepium ssp. americana, sometimes it sets seeds but propagates clonal from the rhizomes; pretty but very invasive
