Sunny hanging baskets?

Page, ND

I'm too embarrassed to take a picture of 3 of my hanging baskets. I have YET to find something to put in full sun that will last! This year I tried million bells, the terra cotta ones, they are just terrible! I keep them watered. Any ideas for sunny hanging baskets? :(

Try fertilizing your million bells with a bloom booster (high middle number) like 10-52-10. also add a little epsom salts (2 tblsp)

Epsom salt? Really?

Yup. It will help with the plant uptake of the nutrients - fertilizer. Here's a good site for info.

Here's a picture of baskets in full direct sun.

Our weather has been very cold for the last few months. Barely gets over 20ºC or 68ºF daytime highs and night temps are as low as low 40's F

I can't wait until the heat wave of summer arrives. Then the flowers should bolt. edit to also say: Most fertilizers, especially slow release will not work well if the ambient temperature is below 20ºC or 68ºF. Not sure what your weather has been there, but it's is disappointing here with the unseasonably cold temps.

Here's this morning. Maybe I just should plant more variety? I happened to see a post on here of a container of Terra Cotta and it was gorgeous though!

Here's along the same side of the house, but I have petunias and geraniums with them. This looks okay.

They are great! Very healthy and ready to bolt. If you disolve the epsom salts in a water can after fertilzing with a bloom booster, you will see a huge difference. You may have to water a bit more if it gets hot out with the added fertilizer.
