Ray, they are beautiful. I found a tomato snatcher in the garden this morning. Someone I did not know. I plant all the tomatoes for the family and friends. I get many donated tomato plants. I said hello, she mumbled something and left through the gate. At that time I removed the key from the gate. I would give our tomatoes to anyone. Just ask. The most enjoyable fun is giving them to someone. Not them stealing them.,.I gave about ten tomatoes to a young gentleman down the street celebrating his 45th birthday. He stated, :"You have given me the most enjoyable gift no one else can give me. Memories of my Aunt that always hd fresh tomatoes out side her back door":. We would go out in the back area pick tomatoes and have them for breakfast. Better than the Bottles of Vodka that he got. I was proud..., LOL...

skwinter: Unfortunately there are always the types out there that want to steal something even when they don't have to unfortunately. I already know which tomatoes I'm growing next tomato season that comes round.

Around here farmers raise peas & sweet corn for the canning companies. Large acreage.
One guy saw a guy from town come out the day they were harvesting his peas. He climbed up on the truck & took a 5 gallon pail of shelled out peas.
So the farmer new where this guy lived in town. He had some nice tomato plants by the street. The farmer kept a close eye on the tomatoes. When they were nearly ripe he stopped a picked some for himself. The town guy about lost it.
Farmer said, "an eye for an eye".
Old town guy never came looking for peas again!

Our crops are always close to road. Years ago we had land 8 miles from home. Only thing we ever found missing was some potatoes. They were very weedy & vines all dried up. Not a very good crop either. Someone dug up about 20 ft of row. Had to be at night, too.

Bernie: Wow, I'm glad I haven't had that trouble yet; it is difficult enough having to fend off the birds and the pests that want to destroy my crops, of course, I did manage to stop that rascally wabbit. He has not been seen nor heard from again.
