Ever since i moved into this mountain home there has been at lease one of these on the wall a night. What kind are they and what would attract them? The entire house is sealed it seems. I got the best picture i could (had to use phone).
Identify Spier Please
Your image is too unclear for me to identify, other than noting that it appears to be a male spider (enlarged pedipalps) and that it does not appear to be a dangerous species. There are many spiders that can wander into homes during their search for prey or mates, but other than widow or recluse spiders (yours appears to be neither), they all are harmless to humans. Try to get a clearer close-up photo, and in the meantime, check out the images at http://tinyurl.com/5b3tvr and http://tinyurl.com/cjcxds to see if anything comes close.
It is possible that this spider is in the family Tengellidae - see http://tinyurl.com/lyxnos for an image. Very little appears known about these spiders, but they do not appear to be dangerous in any way.
