One of my favorite holidays - do you have your flag up? We fly two flags here - kind of incongruous with the British flag on the 4th, but no matter. Did you see on the news that they are re-opening Lady Liberty's crown today? Doing anything special? We're barbecuing - just the two of us. Don't know if there will be any fireworks locally tonight, but if not, we'll find some on TV.

We're going to dd's. She's having about 30 people for carne asada, spanish rice and all the good stuff that goes with that. We'll be able to see the firework show from Upland High School from her backyard. Should be a great day although a little hot.

I'm not doing anything special--my poor dog is terrified of fireworks so I usually try not to go anywhere so I can stay here with him. I can usually see some nice displays from my back deck/windows so I can still enjoy fireworks while doing the best I can for him. I'm hoping maybe he'll be better this year though--as he's getting older he's also getting deafer. Most of the time that's not a good thing, but I'm hoping it'll mean he can't hear the fireworks as well so maybe he won't be so scared.
We're heading off to the Pow Wow at Pechanga. They have the best fireworks around! LOL!
In the meanwhile, I'll get to visit with friends I haven't seen for a long time, and deliver those feathers from KC. I won't be dancing this year, but I'll still have fun! Jonathan said he'd bring his camera and take photos for me. : )
Among other things we'll be honoring our veterans, past, present and future. : )
