Weather In AN Around Your Area

Wauseon, OH(Zone 5a)

Here in Northwest Ohio it has been a cool wet Spring and June, here it is July 3rd and still in the low 70's and at the first of the week in the 60's.

What I am getting at is how are your gardens growing, mine is doing good and my Flowers are doing good also but I have noticed that so of the flowers are not as big as they were last year. My clematis is only about 18 inches tall and I can not believe that it is not at the 10 foot range yet.

I feel that it is a very good year so far for new plants that would have been under stress by now from HOT WEATHER.

Rosemont, ON(Zone 4a)

It's been cool and wet here too. Great planting and sowing weather. I let my flowers go to seed last year, and now seedlings are coming up everywhere in my flowerbeds - salvias, lupins, foxgloves, coneflowers, globe thistles, mulleins, california poppies, bells of Ireland, thymes, and more. The cool temps have slowed down the established perennials though, and a lot of them are either flowering longer or blooming about a week later than usual.

(Zone 7a)

It's been weird in Utah, too. I've things flowering that usually flower in the late summer. My caryopteris has been opening flowers for the past week. It usually does so during the last week of August.

Anne Arundel,, MD(Zone 7b)

Cool and wet in Mid Atlantic US!
Some things really are liking it, but it messed with my planting schedule and that may have affected some things. I usually dig potatos about now in sweltering heat but they went in a month late so are not ready yet. My dogwoods are getting a huge case of powdery mildew now and I don't remember them being bothered with it before. That won't be too pretty, but I will accept it in return for me being able to do lot s of plant relocating and everything has survived with the rain.

Santa Fe, NM

Cool and wetter than usual in northern New Mexico. We've had such cool nights that tomatoes, eggplants, beans are not doing too well. We're calling it a "cabbage summer". You'd think the plants would love it but they seem a little confused at my house!

Waterman, IL(Zone 5a)

Cool and wet summer so far here in Chicagoland. Plants are very lush, but flowers are smaller than last year. Two weeks ago it was in the high 90's, last week in the 60's, so far this week it's sunny and pleasant. Crazy summer.

Victoria, TX(Zone 9b)

Hot
Hot
hot
And dry
Painfully dry

Timer watering my garden for a half hour every other day dry ...

Grass fires burned over 700 acres of pasture & hay meadows near my house over the weekend... Started by a trailer tire ...

We're praying for rain.
All the time.

Gladwin, MI(Zone 5a)

We have had one week of summer. (meaning it was in the 80's) It has been cool here.

The big weekend (last weekend) it was 75' and a cool breeze. Don't get no better than that. Not good for the plants that need the heat and humidity. But good for me. ^ _ ^
