GA3 Damage and Wonders Be Careful! Good Bad and the Ugly!

Birmingham, United Kingdom

I learned a few mistake with GA3 (Gibberellic acid) and Superthrive; they cause blooming in some plants and elongation and leaf twisting. This is after 14 days with 200ppm; I have used it for cross pollination and getting seed off self sterile species..

Here is a young olive tree in a small pot that should not bloom at such a young age, 200ppm @ 14 days it's about 2 foot tall

Peeps I think you get the message; some of the damage has been caused by superthrive / GA3, the leaf twisting (no proof) superthrive and elongation GA3

I am going to do some experiments on unwanted plants to find the right dose if there is such a thing.

The lesson learned is when playing with plant hormones be careful; I don't know if I will get proper olives and if they are safe to eat or if the plants will grow out of this.

On a different effect I have noticed that 'rose clear' seems to stunt plants but again no proof; I have a 2 year old swiss cheese plant that is 2 inches tall, go figure.

I have heard that dwarf ipomoea and peas lack GA3 and can be made taller, don't know as never applied.

I think 50ppm or less might be something to try..

Here is a link to JL Hudson, not advertising as he is good to deal with..

I wonder if this material would work with difficult Ipomoea obscurea seeds to get them to germinate. It's worth a shot.
