Oh the power! The strange and overwhelming power! It is a gift....the eggs feel her aura, they cannot resist. At this very moment, a whole world of serama chickens are just pipping their way out. It's sort of like the pied piper, but better.
Melissa - good idea! Lodi should have a billboard at the entrance to the city saying:

Serama Gramma, I will have you know that I have NOT looked at the hatcher since last night when my youngest said,
"Mom, one has pipped."
Mom is thinking oh CRAP the turner is still in there.
So, I looked, and couldn't tell, so I opened the lid, knowing I"d have to anyway if it had pipped, and it was just a fleck of straw.
I did quickly sneak a few "feels" while I was there, and the three I gently lifted were significantly lighter than they were when I put them in there. I won't check it again until tomorrow when I put them in the cartons. (with bottoms out) ;)
Claire, I wonder if we could call the Mayor of Lodi? ;)
That is too funny Melissa! I hate those eggs that have raised spots, or marks on them... Especially when I don't have my glasses! Strains my frail brain... :)

I can preach all about how to be patient.. and then when it's my turn I'm a bundle of nerves, not without a pair of glasses and a flashlight in hand for days..
They haven't ventured outside yet.. but they sure love their new home!

LOL Claire! I guess I'm being a tad bit over protective... He can speak chicken really well.. He has learned that noisy chicks want something... I have seen him go check on the Moderns when they get loud.. He is very good.. I need to leave him alone now..
