We had to take the silkies out of the big pen and make a smaller pen in the big coop for them, the little ones were getting picked on really bad,not the rooster he took right over and let them know that he was boss.If the hens would have fought back a little they would have been ok but they just cowered and the other ones would jump on them and peck them, let them be for over a week and could not stand it any longer so dh made them there own home away from the big ones,so they are inbetween the big ones and the little ones(they are not very little anymore they grow so fast). So there door is on one side of the coop and the other side is the big girls.

I'm going to say a cross because his feathers don't look like the usual fluffy Silkie feathers.

These are my Blue Splash Silkies thats the hen and the roo is on the right you can only see his rear (sorry he won't be still)

DH had made silkie nesting boxes in the big coop and they never used them so he is cutting the hole out bigger so then bigger hens can get in them to lay, they are so nosey the noise of the jig saw didn`t even scare them.

He is a beauty! I'm guessing a cross as well. Looks a lot like our Cochin Silkie mix only a different color.

Harmonyplace my girls don`t even look like that so they must be crosses.

He is handsome ,he is the one that had the awful looking legs and feet due to the scaley leg mites, but they look a lot better now.I just love to hear him when he talks to the hens especially when he finds some food and they come running to him to him.I wish they were more friendly so I could hold them, but they are so afraid of us,I just have to be patient and keep trying to win them with food.

Yes it will patience, but they will eventually learn you are not a threat to them.
