Do you grow Lamb's Ears

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

That is sweet. I thought a 80 pound dog landing was bad, but at least he does not come with sharp hoofs.

How are your other babies coming along.

I have had major dental work so have been out of it for a time. LOL

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

We now have 8 lambs total. We lost a total of 4 of this year's lambs, which was really sad. We are not sure what happened with them. Two lambs died at about 10 weeks of age within a few days of each other, shortly after their mother died. The necropsy on the mother was inconclusive in some ways although she appeared to die primarily due to a stroke, but the cause of the stroke was unknown. Then with her lambs dying shortly thereafter, it appears it may have been some sort of infection. One of the other deaths was very early on in a lamb who was a runt from the start and she never really got active. The other one was stillborn.

Other than those the rest of the lambs are doing really well and we are very pleased with them. Marshmallow's siblings continue to do well.

Our blue Polish chicks did handsomely well and I love watching them run around as adolescents with big poofy hats on.

Onyx the baby donkey also has done very well and he will be going to a new home in the fall. We didn't have any llama babies yet but they are 12 month gestation and we only got our herd sire in the late spring.

Sorry to hear about your dental work. The dentist I go to is very nice but he is still not my favorite person!

Jacksonville, FL(Zone 8b)

Sorry to hear about the lambs you lost, but happy to hear about the others. Wish I could have live stock here. Darn

Thanks. I go to the dental college. They tried to save the tooth but it went bad and had to be removed. I told them if they found any gold or oil in that hole they where digging to china that it was all mine-I was not sharing. LOL

Back to reading and catching up.

Oh my gosh too funny Wren!!

Sewincircle, I try to keep most of my house sheep a secret, lest the authorities come and steal the flock out of my basement. Oops...

Clarkson, KY

Enjoying you guys!! Sorry to hear about wren's toothy sorrows....

Lodi, United States

Hey! Are you pointing the finger of suspician at my basement chickens? Because if you are, tough luck--I brought them up last week when it flooded.....

The worst I've had is a root canal--I can't imagine what you are going through, Wren. Feel better soon.

Grownut! You're back! Happy...Happy.....

Clarkson, KY

I've never been quite gone, Catsy-dear....I'm just not all here.....

(and thanks!!)

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Oh Catscan, the basement flock of SHEEP dear, not chickens. Don't get your livestock mixed up. Fortunately I am living on a hill so my sheep should not flood out.

Yay Grownut! How's the rock?

Clarkson, KY

bet sheep float rather well...tie a few together and take a trip down the Mighty Missisipp...a la Huck Finn (does one really say 'aux' for that?!)

You'd think the rock would be scoured and sparkling clean by now, but nope...it's really rather....ermmm....earthy, at the moment....

hoping to be back more before long...been utterly distracted...and having chicken/skunk woes...so...surely I'll be back on board soon though...

Elbridge, NY(Zone 5a)

A basement flock???? Sound interesting... very special ops of you.

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Yes, and they are all trained in night vision goggles. And parachuting.

Clarkson, KY

{{{where do basement sheep parachute from and to?!?!?!}}}

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Uh Grow....you ought to know that's classified....

Clarkson, KY

certifiable or classified?;p

well surely wondering is free....
lalalalaaaaa.........

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

(whispering)

Grow....get with the program....clearly basement sheep paraCHUTE down the laundry CHUTE....

Cough cough...nothing to see here....nope....move along now....

Clarkson, KY

Improperly chew't?! Cud I call it...

But Santy Klaws, how'd they ever get up it??

Oxford, NS(Zone 5b)

Well they go up the stairs and into the closet of course! Where else does a laundry chute start? Goodness me you have been under that rock a little too much lately. Conveniently, the cud gets on the laundry which just needs washing anyway.

Clarkson, KY

Hopefully only in the colored laundry chute....ack!!

Our laundry chute at home had to be small enough that the brothers couldn't stuff each other down it. Was difficult to get clothes down too. hah! Poor mom...
