I'm growing Lamb's Ears in my garden. How about you?! (giggle)
Do you grow Lamb's Ears
OMG, I want one!
That is so cute :)
I should live on a farm, sigh :(
too cute....she's doing well then, Mom? (snort....what will she say to that appellation?!)
That is such an adorable picture. You could put that on a calendar page. So so sweet.
She's absolutely adorable... so are you going to end up with a "house sheep" :)
Marshmallow is doing very well, thanks. She had a leg problem a few days ago and I was very worried that she wasn't going to make it, but she has bounced back. She is still hobbling a little. The vet isn't sure what happened but she somehow got a swollen knee and it seemed like an infection and she was very quiet and lethargic. Now she is back to her usual self of crying when I leave the room, and then when I come back, she stands there wagging her tail. I take her out to see her real mother but she couldn't care less and just runs to be with me. She will be a house sheep until she's about 4 weeks old (so another 3 weeks) and then we'll re-introduce her to the flock. Her mother is huge, probably a good 250 lb ewe, so she is likely to be a big girl. She will always be a special ewe to me.
Sweet. I want one. Let's see I could always call it a sheep dog. LOL
You may have to sleep in the barn with her when you reintroduce her!
OMG!!! how cute!!! What an outstanding pic Claire. If that doesn't melt your heart! Your already dead. I just want to lay my head and snuggle. Hay
Yes, it is a darling pic! You must be feeding those ears well.. they are blooming!
That does need to go on a calender.. it's perfect... the only thing missing are socks..
I'm sorry.. I couldn't resist.
lol, Zeez...
Are you sure she isn't wearing green socks?
Not today....she's got definitely very white legs. Maybe she is wearing white socks and i can't tell the difference between those and her legs?!
Okay.. I'll stop now.. Just had to share that with you!
Wow! Those blackberriez are awesome! I planted some this year too. I haven't had them before - only raspberries before. This year I have the Triple Crown thornless blackberry and the "Jewel" black raspberry planted, so we'll see how they come along. That brug is beautiful too. I don't have any because they aren't hardy here. Plus, very toxic to livestock.
Marshmallow was doing leaps and bounds this morning in the bedroom in order to entice me to get up and feed her. She is cuter every day - I can hardly stand it!
She is so cute! What happened to her mother?I couldn`t stand that heat ZZ,But I would like to have just a little bit to dry things out here,it has been raining here for 2 weeks and in the 60s,the humidity is awful ,I`ve mushrroms growing on my lawn its so wet here.I AM SO SICK OF RAIN!!!!!!!I think I`ve forgotten what the sun looks like. Its potaoes growing country here and the farmers are really getting worried about there crops, soom of it has rotted in the ground and blight is a real worry. They can`t cut hay because it will not stop raining,I bet hay will some expensive this winter due to the lack of it.I am so far behind in my yard work I will never get caught up.
Green we had tons of rain back in the spring and it stunted my flowers and i have had loads of rot and mildew lost alot of plants. (I wished for it to stop)
Now we are in a drought LOL hasn't rained in over 3 weeks i been watering every day and temps and humidity are outrageous.
Be careful what you wish for......
Claire Marshmallow is so cute :~)
Green - she was one of quadruplets. One of them was stillborn. Of the remaining three, two were really strong and the third was weak and the mom wasn't paying attention, so she became a bottle lamb and she is doing really well living in the house. She will go back out to the flock in a couple of weeks, probably, when she needs less milk and is comfortable eating hay.
I don't know the variety of these berries.. but they get as big as your thumb! Probably not this year for me.. cause it's their first year, but oh man does it make for fun chores in the morning! I just had some and I just kept one in my mouth for a long time.. too good to swallow! LOL I made jam last year from the parent plants and some wild ones at a DGrs house.. it was awesome.
That reminds me of back when there where blackberry vines growning wild around here. I would pick them and DM would make a blackberry cobbler. So good. having problems typing sorry for any mistakes I did not catch. Over did
I thought maybe some of you would like an update on marshmallow! She is now 5 weeks old (well, she will be tomorrow). She is over 15 pounds now and very demanding! She gets 3 bottles a day, 2 cups at a time (a far cry from the 3-4 oz she was drinking before!). She cries if we leave the room and tries to launch herself over the baby gate (which we use because she likes to try and suck on the dog's tail as if it were an udder). She sleeps on the dog's bed too. Here she is now.
She IS insanely cute!!!
covetcovetcovetcovetcovetousssssssssss...........
too cute for words there!!
I saw the video of her you have on your blog, she is so cute! Are you going to be able to convince her she's a sheep when it's time for her to rejoin the flock?
Loreen - I'm not sure how she'll like it. She is not very interested in her siblings when I take her outside to the field. She will probably always be a more people-friendly sheep than a sheep-friendly sheep. However, she will have to go out soon because buying diapers to fit will be a challenge!
Can't she graduate to pull ups? She is too cute...
Or she could use Depends....lol!!
That durn lamb is the cutes thing I've seen in a long time, I don't know how you do it Clair?? Putting outside would kill me. That original pic of her just melts me. And seein her in the house, I'm sorry, she just belongs. That's all I can say. Haystack
Oh Hay you would die if you saw her this morning. First time ever, she jumped clear up onto the bed. She used to just put her feet up on the edge. This morning, one flying leap and she was on there jumping around like a little kangaroo. So excited to see me awake and demanding her bottle immediately. She warms my heart but when she is 250 lbs like her mom, I'm not sure she will quite fit in the house!!
My 120 pound Akbash did the one mighty leap on the bed thing when we first brought him home.....I can't advise it with a 250 pound sheep...however cute and beloved.
I'm thinking possible cracked ribs...
Looks like you have more than lambs ear growing. Looks like the whole kit and kaboodle.
My husband has band lambs ear, nose, tails.... in our garden. sigh.
I will covet yours. LOL
sewincircle, you're back!
Baby lambs ears grow up into whole entire lambs Sewincircle....didn't you know that?!?! Tee hee!
This morning she jumped up on the bed again and then promptly snuggled down beside me with her head on my stomach. Apparently she liked the grumbling sounds in there...
