What makes you happy? (Not drunk happy, but really happy)
I love anything that is happy because there are too many sad things in life:
Whatsoever things are lovely, pure, good report, praise worthy and so on...think on these things!
So...tell us at least 5 things that make you happy.
Here are a few for me, in no particular order:
1.) Blooming flowers
2.) Being with family on holidays
3.) Jazz or Ragtime music (because its happy and perky; no noise music)
4.) A big glass of ice cold water on a 100 degree day
5.) Taking pictures
6.) Butterflies.
7.) Mocking Birds singing
8.) Air Conditioning in the Summer
9.) Heat in the Winter
10.) Manipulating pictures with software
11.) Writing
12.) Paying off a credit card (I can't wait!!!)
13.) Getting a really good deal on things at yard sales
14.) Having a good talk with God
15.) Accomplishing something.
So, what about you?
^_^
And these are a few of my fav-o-rit things...
What makes me happy?
1) my gardens (in the summer)
2) Pavarotti singing
3) all of my fur babies
4) writing
5) the smell of a wood fire
6) fresh cut grass or hay
What a great idea!
Your list made me smile, too! Thanks for posting it.

These make me happy ---
Belief in the Lord
Seeing my DH walk in the door(almost lost him to cancer)
An unexpected smile.
Pride on the faces of my grandchildren when they know they did well at something.
The beauty of a flower.
A gathering of old friends.
A gathering of new ones.
Beautiful!
Thanks for posting.
Let's keep the happy lists going...
As I sit here watching an hour long special I just have to add Stompin' Tom to my list. I haven't stopped smiling since he started singing!!
What a nice thread. Here's my list.
Hummingbirds
tai chi practice
the smell of rain on the desert
painting or taking photographs
dancing
watching clouds
I'm going to look up Stompin' Tom...don't know who that is...

Listen to Bud The Spud too.
Looks like he is famous; never heard of him before (that I remember).
My husband said; "What'cha got on in there?"
LOL
Guess he is from Newfoundland; the Man in the Moon is a Newfie...w/ the golden Dorie. Cute, someone named their Dog Dorie after the song.
Anyway, I listened to a number of goofy little songs and it looked like folks were having a lot of fun.
Listened to the Bugs! Bugs! Bugs! song, too. Too bad it wasn't cleaned up a bit; it would be a cute songs for kids.
Thanks for the link.
Nice link, threegardeners!
To see smiles on my children's and grandchildrens' faces
the smile on a friend's face when I've done something for them that they weren't expecting
listening to nature
my 'quiet' hour in the morning before the day begins
doing 'unexpected' things for people just because I can
Life
The change of seasons!
Springs warm days and budding trees and flowers. Gardening and 'redecorating' the yard. Visiting the garden centers and the sound of lawnmowers coming out of storage. Birds chirping as the sun rises and spending the day watching birds flying back and forth building their nests. The smell of Hyacinth and other spring bloomers. The promise of a new start!
Summers activities and celebrations; swimming, cold watermelon, fireworks shows, vacations and family reunions. Star gazing and crickets chirping. Going barefoot, drinking a tall glass of iced tea with the smell of a fresh lemon slice added. A cool theater on a hot afternoon. The smell of a rare, sudden, cooling rain storm on a hot afternoon.
Falls cool nights and comfortable days. Kids excitedly returning to school. School buses and lunchboxes, new shoes and school clothes appear again. Falling leaves. The smell of leaves burning and kids excited over Halloween, just around the corner. Watching birds flying south for the winter. Hot chocolate and cozy sweaters. Pumpkin pie and Thanksgivings spent with family.
Winters cold burst. Shoppers scurrying to finish their to-do lists, before the cold front comes thru bringing the seasons first snow. Getting home to a fire blazing in the fireplace, with a cup of hot chocolate and loves ones waiting! The sounds of carolers, Christmas music and excited children everywhere you go. Pumpkin pies, homemade Christmas candies and cookies abound. Candles and lighted trees and houses create a wonderland that you remember your whole life. Remembering Who we have to thank for such a wonderful life!
mcrochet and Sugarplum1,
What wonderful lists of beautiful things! I love these lists of good things! With all the bad news and crazy times, reading these lists does a body good!
We do have SO much to be thankful for!
Thanks so much for posting!

Susan,
I love your list! You put a smile on my face more than once...a mud fight in the rain. As kids in NY, we danced in the rain; it was part of the fun.
Now that we've moved to a place that is one of the highest for lightening bolts and severe weather every time it really rains, I had forgotten about dancing in the rain.
Happy, happy Anniversary! 34 years is a wonderfully long time; we just celebrated 19 years.
Blessings,
April
You are right April. What a wonderful way to start my day. I now look here first!!!!
Sleeping with nature sounds; crickets, katydids, tree frogs
sallyg,
Sounds nice (and gentle rain on the roof)...LOL...I'm hoping for rain! 96 to 103 degree days here with no rain...anyone have extra to share?
April
We just had a June with only four days of sun. All rain - every day!!! And July is starting off the same. I'd gladly ship some out if I could!!!!
Hi All,
There are some times here that it will rain without the thunder and lightening so that is when I showed her about mud in the new flower bed.. LOL Had to teach that you don't throw to hurt you throw for fun.... No face hitting.....
This is a very nice thread.....
Hugs to all,
Susan
Any more lists?
"When the dogs bite...When I'm feeln' blue; I simply remember my favorite things...and then...I don't feel so bad!"
When times are tough (like now), I really should make more of an effort to remember the good things--thanks for the reminder. Here are mine:
1. My three kiddos.
2. My wonderful hubby who puts up with me (and all of my pets and plants).
3. All of my fur, feathered, scaled pets who are always happy and brighten my day
4. My gardens
5. My gardens after it rains
6. The scent of stargazer lillies
7. My houseplants that allow me to play in the dirt when I can't play outside in the garden
8. Shopping (or is that too indulgent??)
PlantMomto3,
Ahhh wonderful! Thanks for the smiles and happy thoughts.
April
For today being able to say I am one year older :-) Hope for many more.
Hugs,
Sue
What makes Me Happy?
hrmm, it could be different things on a different day really. What made me happy yesterday, might have morphed into something totally different today, but here are a few that are constant:
1) rain storms
2) breezy spring days
3) planning out my gardens
4) writing
5) reading a good vampire story
6) cuddling with my kitties
7) when all the bills are paid
8) popcorn and a good movie
9) Birthdays (yes it's true, growing old doesn't bother me)
10) Autumn and Thanksgiving (yummy stuff you only get once a year, cuz it would just be wrong to eat it any other time of the year)
11) crisp clean sheets
12) the words "I love you Mom"
13) a good cup of coffee
14) Sunday breakfasts (if you grew up in the south, you know what I'm talking about)
15) mom's fried chicken ( no one makes it like she does)
16) good hair days
17) sitting on my porch swing in autumn
18) window shopping
19) a good margarita
20) pot luck lunches
cue_chick;
Long list; you are correct. Ours lists change as our lives changes.
This one was interesting:
when all the bills are paid
DITTO! That is a nice happy smile one.
