I have sedum but most likely you already have it and it is a noid. What I have is a very common type so most people already have it.

Saint Cloud, FL(Zone 9b)

Just starting my collection here! Most of what I have is currently trying to root as they are cuttings. I am also trying to find people willing to trade some! I love sedums!

Dexter, ME

I just got a bunch in Deb I am trying to find out which they are

Melfa, VA(Zone 8a)

Would be great if some of us could get together and trade to expand our collections without spending so much. If even we were planning to buy some, we could decide on a few to get and split them among us and get several that way. Some of mine I have just gotten too but they are growing nicely!! i ordered mine from... I think..smgsucculents where most of them were under $3.00! I will see how big they are when they come.

Antioch, TN

The ones I have I sent to you before. If you need a resend let me know.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

estrail1rider, I like that idea. Kind of like a mini coop swap?
I am just starting out and have purchased a few. Really getting into them.

Melfa, VA(Zone 8a)

Yes, a very mini one...I don't think a big one would be of benefit because there is the possibility of too many duplications.
I tthink I will go over and post a note on the succulent forum. I know of 1 or two other people here that are really trying to get into sedums.
This is just talk...but if we decided to do something like this, how mant people do you all think would be a good number and please don't say 50!! LOL!!!
Deb

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

About 10-20 but as few as possible.

Melfa, VA(Zone 8a)

Absolutely no more than that! Maybe evn a few less than 20. How about the rest of you?? Your thoughts? I just saw a neat thread on the cactus forum on sedums. Might want to take a look...

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

If we are going to buy and then swap pieces of what we purchased unless we buy a lot, there really couldn't be alot in the group could there? Or I am I confused as normal..LOL

Snellville, GA(Zone 8a)

if you decide to do a swap please let me know i would like
to play.

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

No I wouldn't want very many. Would make trading complicated.

Dexter, ME

Debbie I am going to try and get pictures of the bag of sedums I just got I think she had told me there where 6-7 in there

Melfa, VA(Zone 8a)

I need to think a bit to figure out the best way to do this. Any suggestions anyone has to offer would be of help, too.
Debbie

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

Could we do it as a mini co-op type thing. You find a vendor that would sell just a few trays and then we all pitch in and buy them and then split them between us.

Melfa, VA(Zone 8a)

Might do that. I have never done a co-op but would still have to be just a small number of people because I know I myself could not handle doing more. i will check around.
debbie

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

Well It really wouldn't be a co-op of real making just ordering from a vendor as cheaply as possbile and buying a few trays between friends. If your unsure about it all just be careful that we all don't go crazy with it. LOL Keep us in line .

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Thought of something this morning as I was playing in the garden, we need to be careful about zones.
Quick glance I see zone 5, 6, 8, 9 and some where the zone isn't listed, if we are going to swap, then we need to be careful.

A very small group of us are doing this with iris, about 5 of us went together, each member bought a certain number of iris which allowed us to hit the wholesale price. They will be shipped later this summer and each member will get x number from each variety. Does that sound confusing enough??? LOL

Need to figure out how many plants in a tray (if buying by the tray) get that number of folks to buy a tray, then when the tray arrives instead of say me getting one variety, each tray is split amoung the group and you get all different kinds.....

It can be one plant from each tray, or two, whatever is divisable (how I spelled that correctly)....LOL

Dexter, ME

well I think I will pass i thought this was for trading, and it seems to be a co-op. I cant afford it right now thanks anyways

Melfa, VA(Zone 8a)

I guess first...how many new ones is everyone thinking about? 12 people maybe? Let me sit down and think about numbers. Some people will maybe not have to purchase any if they already have an unusual one that they could split up.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

I agree if you have an unusal one, then just swap, that would be fine with me. I don't have any unusal ones so I would need to get some and then swap with whom ever.

Dexter, ME

well a cpl people emailed one for a trade great and another telling me not to back out just yet thank you both!

Melfa, VA(Zone 8a)

Yes...please don't back out yet. Make a decision after things are more settled.

Dexter, ME

Okie dokie

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

I am like you flowers I don't have the money either but would like some so I am going to try and scrape enough together to help buy some. and that way I can get a few more that I have.

Melfa, VA(Zone 8a)

This is just off the top of my head...what is you could get 12 new ones for lets say about 20.00 including postage if we did a buy/swap. That might be do-able.

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

You are saying 20.00 for all of us or 20.00 indiviually?

Melfa, VA(Zone 8a)

each should probably figure out if just a trade would work, too.

Melfa, VA(Zone 8a)

I can only see getting maybe 4 for 20.00 instead of 12. 4 would be bigger plants but not the variety.

Melfa, VA(Zone 8a)

OK...lets consider an outright swap first.
I will need the names of the sedums each person has and how many rooted cuttings of each you could spare. You might want to send that info to my dmail.

Washington, IN(Zone 6a)

I only have the one that I can even trade for now and I have had it so long I can't remember the name of it. You might be able to ID it. It looks just like the regular stonecrop but it blooms the flowers are white then as they age they turn a funny color of purple. Thats all I know about it.

Pinellas Park, FL(Zone 9b)

I would if I had any.

Kansas City (Joyce), MO(Zone 5a)

Will send a list this evening.

Melfa, VA(Zone 8a)

I started a new thread to get rid of the old title. The new thread is:

"Sedum/Stonecrop Swap/co-op..anyone interested??"

I opened the new one as the title of this one doesn't really fit with the new topic we have started.
