CLOSED: Beetle ID help, please

Burnsville, MN

These beetles are about 1/4" to 1/2" long and are mainly devouring nightshade plants along the fenceline, but have been making inroads on my tomatoes and peppers. What are they and how can I get rid of them (preferably without commercial pesticides)? Thanks!

Not a beetle, but a true bug, the Four-lined Plant Bug Poecilocapsus lineatus. Peppers, tomatos, and nightshade are in the same family, Solanaceae, which is close enough for this bug apparently. Someone suggested neem oil for control on this bugfiles page:

Thanks so much!
