I have been finding quite a few of these spiders in our basement and around the gurage. I have been looking online for a while now and cant quite find one that looks just like this. Most of them i seen are about the size of a dime, more on the larger side is the one in the picture. I placed a nail next to the spider so you can try and see how big it is.
CLOSED: Spider I Found In My House, is it harmfull?
It is altogether possible that this is a genuine brown recluse spider (Loxosceles reclusa), as it has the combination of unbanded legs, a violin-shaped marking on the cephalothorax, and the eyes arranged in three groups of two each. See
http://tinyurl.com/lylsd6 for an example. You may want to contact the Madison County office of the University of Illinois' Cooperative Extension service for control advice. See http://tinyurl.com/mtfpfg for contact onformation.
Thats what i was afraid of thanks for all the information.
