Rock Wall Construction Part 2

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

Coming from here http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/873748/#top

With over 400 posts it was time for a new rock wall thread although i do not have any walls under construction currently - later this summer i will build another small one behind my daylily patch.

This wall is finished now and in front of my horse shoe pits.

lousie what is my limit on bringing stones home? And what are the rules, can i borrow a wheel barrel, bring my own, or only hand carry?

i have seen the notice and it is closer than the others - i need to talk my wife into coming - i'll let you know later on this summer.

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

Sounds good, Bill! Now, as to the rules......we have a tractor (Lydia) who enjoys picking up big granite stones and driving around with them, or dumping them into unsuspecting people's trunks......

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

DonnieBrook, Lydia is going to get a work out as you know Wha will hijack a dump for the day. Sounds like fun, maybe I can make your RU. Batting zero so far, but hoping. Patti

Southwest , NH(Zone 5b)

That would be great, Patti. I was disappointed when you weren't able to come to Kathy's. I must warn everyone....my gardens are NOTHING like Kathy's!!!! LOL

I'll put you and Bill on the "hopefuls" list!

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

I've seen your wonderful place. I'll expect to have a cuppa in your special spot if I ever get there. We are heading to Vt on next Friday, wrong week, but that is how it goes. Patti

Good grief - Bill/Wha you need to change your name to Hercules

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

Yeah, he does!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i'll stick with Bill - my ex is greek and she does not call me anything close to hercules!

Sacramento, CA(Zone 9a)

Okay, I'll apologize up front. This "joke" is really bad but I think Bill might get a smile from it anyway:

I think you should go by Wha Youkilis: the Greek god of Rocks.

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

love Youk here although he is not greek.

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

So, Bill, how did you come about 'wha' for your ID name?

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

His initials.

Nantucket, MA(Zone 7a)

Wha stand for more than that. Perhaps" Will haul ---". or Wall Heaper Addict. Patti

Lower Hudson Valley, NY(Zone 6b)

Weally Hyper Arss

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

elmer fudd has arrived i see

Questa, NM(Zone 5b)

He he! You guys crack me up

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Me, too!
I spit coffee over " Will haul ---". Thanks, Patti. I have to clean the computer screen now. Well, nothing better to do on a rainy day, what?

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

DH is being wha! He is working on our front steps. The brick and concrete were falling apart, so he took them out and replaced them with pre-cast concrete. Now he just has to finish facing the old part with the brick that came loose. Pics when done.

The Monadnock Region, NH(Zone 5a)

Oh, nice, jumper2!!
What a great guy!

Pepperell, MA(Zone 6a)

i never touch concrete:)

hope it comes out great jumper!!

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

Thanks, probably will get finished over the weekend.

i may try and re-do this as it was my first attempt and one stone is a little low. really have to be fast to get these up and make them stay - well that or you need to know the trick:)

Gotta get the right keystone. Looks great, Bill. (as usual)

Beautiful & unique, Bill. You would have trouble at jumper 2 house. They are on the lake plain. I once suggested that she hold something down with a rock & her question was, 'What rock'? Aren't you glad that you live here?

Huron, OH(Zone 5b)

What rock? Not any to be found in my yard, just weeds.

Denville, NJ(Zone 6b)

very cool Bill!!!

central, NJ(Zone 6b)

Wow, that is awesome(how did you do that?). Looking wonderful as always.
