CLOSED: Insect eggs on Canna lily/ any ID possible?

Lula, GA(Zone 7b)

This is probably not good enough of a photo to ID. But how do you begin to find out about eggs? Any thoughts or guidance appreciated.
Thanks!

I am far from certain, but these may be eggs of a true bug (Hemiptera/Heteroptera). The eggs of the principal lepidoptera pests of canna lilies tend to laid singly or in loose groups of just a few eggs. Keep a close eye on them, and see what hatches out.

My hero/heroine. Thanks. I will do so, but should I cut the leaf off and keep them in a container inside?

It probably is safe to leave them where they are and just watch them closely. It is unlikely to be anything that will seriously harm the plant.

Will do. Should I mark this as solved?

Probably should wait until you see what hatches - we both may be surprised...

I did not "catch" what hatched but am closing as the opportunity is gone.
