the marigolds I bought a few months ago have started to wither their first blooms. I've collected the drying flower heads to save the seeds. Can I sow these seeds now to have some Fall/Autumn sets come up or do they need to be stored until next spring?

Sowing present season marigold seeds
I've thrown this question around in my head for a few days now.... short of not being ripe, I can't see why not, but then .... if seeds were all good immediately, then there wouldn't be seeds for next spring, right? I know that some seeds will need temp changes etc. in order to germinate, but I don't think marigolds are one of them.
