Quamocilt x sloteri

Birmingham, United Kingdom

This one goes by several names, I think it was a hybrid created by Mr Logan Sloter by crossing Quamoclit coccinea & Q. pennata, (correct me if I am wrong)

I have seen it labelled as "cypress vine", ipomoea quamoclit etc etc

I have also seen reference to it being a weed and being invasive in the USA, nice weed if you ask me, please come to invade my garden!!

This one has foliage intermediate between the entire leaves of the former

The flowers are a striking "post box" red colour, it seems happy here in the UK in a sheltered position.

This is from my garden this morning

The leaves could be in better shape (rolls eyes) I think red spider mite and other things have had the odd munch here and there, it's hard to keep on top of these things you only note the damage once it is done...then the plant gets stressed and annoyed! :(

I have this one Rareseedsman. I call it Csardinal Climber.

Birmingham, United Kingdom

I have seen reports here that it is invasive and too be careful where you plant it in the US I wish to flowers were bigger; it's always the way can't have everything I suppose.
