I don't know if it's much of a pest or not, but the larvae burrow into the stems of ragweed and cocklebur plants. It's a called a Cocklebur Weevil, Rhodobaenus quinquepunctatus

I just found these on my Asclepias today, here in Phoenix. I was hoping they were there to eat the aphids, but apparently not... There are a few on all my Asclepias plants, so I wonder if they are going to be a problem. I'll be hunting ladybugs, lacewings, and mantises at the garden centers tomorrow!
