I never saw one of these before, on a strawberry leaf.
CLOSED: Flat faced moth
This moth is in the tribe Plusiini, family Noctuidae; possibly the unspotted looper moth - Allagrapha aerea - see http://tinyurl.com/lzw362 for an example.
