About how old will this MG be when it begins to bloom? Mostly dappled shade with a little midday sun with good support, sandy soil with some amendments.
Should they be fertilized?

Morning Glories - Heavenly Blue - first blooms when?
Too much ferts will cause lots of leaves at the expense of flowers, depending on your area and other climatic conditions 60 to 90 days from seed to bloom
Thank you for taking the time to reply. This time frame gives me an idea of when to look for buds. It has been many years since I've grown MG and while I remember the vines growing quickly, I couldn't remember when they began to bud and bloom. My oldest ones have only been up about 4 weeks so I'll quit examining each leaf node dailey and give them a bit more time. :-)

Mary - I know some folks don't use bloom fertilizer, but I swear by MiracleGro Bloom Booster fertilizer that you mix with water and then water the plants with it. I usually get blooms within 2 weeks after using it once. :-) It's worth a try. Good luck!
BTW - I am in a warm zone and mine bloom approx 30 days after they germinate from seed. So climate does play a role in bloom time for sure! :-)

OMG I could only wish for blooms 30 days after germination :)
Never tried bloom booster, worth a try from my usual tomato food
Hi Becky,
I've followed your suggestion and have purchased the MiracleGro Bloom Booster fertilizer. I have used the water soluble ferts in the past so will give this blend a try.
My thanks for your time and suggestion.
Mary
Good luck, Mary! I hope you get the desired blooms from your vine! If so, please post a photo here for us to enjoy! :-) I've not grown Heavenly Blue and would love to see yours in bloom!
