For some odd reason, in the background, as I read Catscan's post, I heard the little voices of the three mice in the "Babe" movie, who have a high pitched sort of chorus, and I heard them say "The Great and Terrible Day"
Why Terrible? Really, it should be The Great and Terrific Day.
Happy Birthday Grownut!
Well there are different interpretations of why the Terrible.
One: That the light and wisdom pouring from grownut's birthday countenance is in itself enough to strike terror into us mere mortals.
Or maybe it is just the multitudinous birthday candles?
Two: That grownut herself, and thus everything connected to grownut, reveals her capacity for universal judgement--which is never pretty.
Seriously Catscan, don't pretend this silliness. We all know that you used "terrible" because you were adding a little touch of French, (because Grow is a linguist) and "terrible" in French means something along the lines of fabulous and awesome.
You are so over modest. Silly you.
Dahlia....how are your yaks? I have attached here a picture of the same yaksheep that I posted earlier, but this one was taken a month or so ago, after shearing, and with her yaklambs.
Claire do you dye your own wool ?
Well there are different interpretations of why the Terrible.
LOL
edited to add..

Happy B-Day
Ahhhh look at the cutie yakalambs (although they sure look like yakagoatlings to me!) Dr Doolittle I am obsessed with my mission to catch an earwig who is nibbling one of my dahlias at the moment. Since I have never had an earwig before I am mostly bumbling around but I have put Calvin the Giant Albino Cockroach on guard while I bumble. Cousin Nut can you spare a rock for a toss and a squish please????
Why I should (Well, and Daahls) be the Nut with this rampaging!!!
I had a lovely day, entered another decade which I was Loathe to do, had a sushi dinner courtesy of DH and DD, and am currently too puffed to pun. Truly I feel great and terrible!!! And ponderous!!!
A snort
And a chuckle
And a laugh or three
Thank Ye All fer ma Birthday
Festivities!!
I'm so glad You had a great Birthday and i hope you have many more :o)
Sounds like a delightfully delicious day!!! ♪♪ and maaannnnyyy mooooore ♪♪ I think I might be an old fart but I'm not sure exactly when you become an old fart. Maybe I'll ask a young fart if I'm an old fart.
Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha !
Dahlianut, I do not encourage the growth and proliferation of earwigs on my farm. I find they interfere with the enjoyment of my day. In addition, my greyhound is deathly afraid of them (and box elder bugs too). I recommend immediate eradication of said earwig. Good luck with the rock and squish method. I am incapable of commenting on the fart age matter with any authority, although I suspect you to be approaching a mid-fart-life crisis.
Harmony, yes, I dye some of my own wool and buy some already dyed. I use "Greener Shades" dyes which are naturally based dyes. This fall I want to try making my own plant based dyes with goldenrod and such. On the same topic, I also like to use wool in its natural colors because it is so prettiful. :-)
and make divine socks!!!! COOL I'm having a mid-fart-life crisis! I'm so excited I can't stand it!
Thanks Claire i read a book on natural dyes once i was thinking of dyeing fabric it never happened but the book was very interesting.
The wool that i have seen on your blog is very Prettiful indeed :o)
Dahlia i'm close to the old fart age myself and i believe i have already experienced the mid life fart crisis LOL
hey, thanks for the pretty and wishes, Silkie!! Love those!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow. Been missin' you, JKJ!! woot!!
