Basically a friend; it's a nymph of an assassin bug (Hemiptera/Heteroptera: Reduviidae), likely that of a wheel bug (Arilus cristatus) - see http://tinyurl.com/r3jvp7
Handle with care, though - they can deliver a very painful bite!
