I'd like to id this moth it is a beauty! the panels on the wall measure 6'.

CLOSED: Large blue moth
Looks like a Luna Moth...Actias luna. Usually a pale-green...but they can appear bluish under certain lighting... the 'tails' appear to have been torn off.
This is not a Luna moth, but belongs to the same genus; possibly it is Actias artemis - see http://tinyurl.com/mfq2cl for an image.
The Actias artemis,Japanese native a close relative and look-alike of Actias luna, the American Luna Moth.
