Weeping Redbud Tree

I saw a weeping redbud tree recently. Are these grafted to make them appear in a weeping form or do they naturally grow like this? I'd like to take a cutting and make one for myself. Is this possible or do the cuttings grow straight?

I have no idea if they're grafted or not, but either way the cuttings would still be weeping, that's a property of the plant not the rootstock. But if it's grafted, there could be a good reason for it...maybe it doesn't grow well on its own roots, or it can't be propagated easily by cuttings, or you need a non-weeping rootstock in order to get the top part of the tree high enough off the ground, otherwise maybe the branches would be weeping all over the ground. I don't know what the case is with this particular plant though.

i also think they need to be staked - i have one and it was getting wider not taller so i have staked the closest new branch to the leader
