Be careful. At Whole Foods they found a Brazillian Wandering Spider in the bananas that looks similar to yours and it can kill you in 20 minutes. Very very poisonous. Here is a link.

looks a little similar the arse end of the one we found was alot thinner though, the legs had hardly any bristles on them were very long but smooth, hard to see properly on the pictures but they're a sand sort of colour, body was about 1 - 1.5 inches, including legs around 3-4 inches, i think they're sending it off for analysis i doubt i'll find out what they find out :-(

That spider in Tulsa turned out to be misidentified:

Well that is no fun.

Your pictures are a little fuzzy, but it looks like a male huntsman spider, family Sparassidae; maybe Heteropoda venatoria. See http://tinyurl.com/m5a55j for an image. I'm not sure of the likelihood of it being a Brazilian Wandering Spider, especially coming from the Dominican Republic. This one doesn't look like one.

the huntsman/crab spider in the link looks very promising markings on the thorax look very similar to the one we caught, thanks for help if i hear back from the analysis i'll post it up

Definitely a male huntsman spider.but can't be certain of the species.
