I am!! I have a grandson that's 2, he lives in Eaton Ohio, and a granddaughter that lives very close and spends almost every night with me. I'm so lucky!!! I have two on the way, a boy and a girl, both due in December. One will be up north and one down here. Both boys up north:( I sure would love to be a bigger part of their lives. I guess that's why I get Emily so much, to make up for some of it:) OH, I'm a very young grandmother btw! LOL!!!! (aren't we all?)

Louisa, I am 50 years old and have a four year old grandson that we steal every chance we get,LOL. We bought him his first fishing pole and tackle box this May for his birthday and have spent the summer teaching him to fish. What fun we have had.My one and only daughter is going to bless me with a grand daughter in November. Now I just have to get into the pink mode.LOL Since this will have to be her last child she feels so lucky that she will have a boy and a girl.Of course we can't wait for her to arrive. We will then have two to spoil instead of one.

I have 7 grandchildren (a few are step grandkids, but we claim them equally) They range from ages 10 to 18, 4 boys & 3 girls. They all think they are grown up already. The younger ones like to garden & do crafts & ride horses, etc. with me, but the older ones have other interest (cars & girls). We all have a good time as a family and i love them very much.

Fountain, FL(Zone 8a)

3 here...Noah is 4 and Asher is 2..both my son's boys. My daughter has a daughter,Annelise, who was 1 in May. We are also at present keeping Maya,my granddog. The boys are 2 hours away and Annelise is in Kansas,so I don't get to see them as often as I'd like...makes the time we do get all the more special.

What wonderful images you all present!! Do you know just how lucky some of you are!! Most of you get to see your grandchildren most days, others not quite so much. Some of you may know, others probably not, that I am originally from England, been in the US for four years. My son, his wife and my two grandchildren are in Illinois. My daughter is in Germany and expecting her first baby and in her thirties. It is not her first pregnancy and she has been through much suffering and pain. This pregnancy has been no easier and we are praying that little Ben and my daughter come through safely. I posted pics of her and Ben's ultrasound some time back on the photo forum. She is due in about three weeks' time. Just hope things calm down and the airways are open to us then. I haven't seen her in two years :-)

Panama, NY(Zone 5a)

Louisa, you're probably sick of hearing about my grandchildren, Tom 6 and his little sister Jess, 3. Jess is asleep in the other room right now, but should be up soon. She came dressed to garden today, but then told me I could garden and she'd watch, as she helped Grandpa check heifers this morning. Tom stayed with me a good bunch, too, before he went to school. He and I used to take naps cuddled up on the couch, but Jess is an independent munchkin and needs her own bed.

Louisa,
I've been wondering about your upcoming trip to Germany and hope that you can get there to see your daughter and new grandson... please keep us posted.... hope she is oding okay as I write this! I know you are a worried mother!!! I certianly would be too! (My daughter is now 20 -egads, already???- and although I do look foward to being a grandmother one day- I also dread the fact that one day she will be totally grown up and have babes of her own!! And I would be worried sick if she went through what your daughter is enduring!)

Kathleen I could never tire of hearing about your grandchildren and the idea of one snuggling up to me for a nap certainly tugs at my heart. If only.......!!!!
Jeanne thank you love for your concern and supportive words - I need all I can get right now - I'm completely stressed out - but it will pass :-)

I'm 59 and my oldest grandson hits 18 this year! I have another 16 and then a girl about 10 and they are my son's kids, but he is divorced and I don't see them much even though they are in the same town. My daughter has a girl 13 named Diamond and she is the apple or our eye, also learning gardening and her little brother is 5 and just started school. He is intrigued with things growing form little seeds.
My son remarried and has 2 step-children. They are wonderful! Very bright, very well brought-up. I think everyone is through though, so I will have to wait for great-grandchildren before I count more. Geez, I could be a great-grandmother before I retire at this rate.

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

LOL Woody, let us know when you do become the great granny!!! Hey it really looks as though we have many new gardening proteges amongst our kids and that's marvellous!! :-)

Alton, VA(Zone 7a)

Well I'm 51 and have 10 granchildren and another to come in February. One of these Grandchildren is a great grandchild.
This is what happens when you marry a guy with three grown children, plus I have two grown children of my own. My son has three step children, My daughter just gave birth this past friday to a little grandson Christian Robert and she has a little girl, our grandaughter Danielle. Louisa I don't know the storey of your daughters health, but this may help. My daughters first born was 8 weeks premature, and had to stay in hospital, for one month, this one was full term, but they had to do an emergencey section, because the baby couldn't fit through the birth channel. a Everything is well, she just can't pick anything up just yet, and Danielle can't figure out why Mommy won't pick her up. But I know how you feel because I was not home when my grandaughter arrived, we where away for the winter going to be home in march because she wasn't due until april. Needless to say I had to come home because I stopped enjoying myself and wanted to get home, and so glad I did. So I hope you get to go, even if it's after the birth.

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

Bless you flowerpot!! It is very hard for me and thank you for the encouragement. I'm so happy for you and that your daughter is continuing to improve - feel sad for Danielle though. Every time the phone rings my heart skips a beat although I do phone her almost every day. I have most of the US praying for her on a chain, so I know she and little Ben will make it :-)

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Louisa, I will say a prayer for you and your daughter and for little Ben.I'm sure you will be holding a little bundle of joy very soon.

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

You are very kind snowhermit and thank you :-)

Del Rio, TX

Louisa, I'll also be praying for you, your DD and little Ben. I saw the pictures you posted of DD and she is so beautiful! Can't wait to see your next ones of her with baby Ben. Grandchildren are the Greatest! DH and I have been blessed with three precious gifts from God. Our DS and DDL have two, D.W. is 8 years old and the most amazing little boy. He is sensitive, loving and loves to garden! Amanda is 6 years old and a beauitful little girl who is also sensitive, loving and loves gymnastics. Our baby! DD who turns 29 next month and DSL have one adorable, beauitful 3 year old little girl named Kelsey. She loves to pick flowers, eat fresh garden tomatoes and loves being outside. Gosh I could talk forever about my Grandchildren but, I'll be quite for now and let all the other Grandmothers out there have their turn! Thanks Louisa, for starting this thread its fun learning about each other.

louisa, I posted my gd's picture just for you. maybe it will bring a little smile. I am so lucky, so I wanted to share her smile with you.

Troy, VA(Zone 7a)

Oh tig thankyou!! I went and looked at the photo. She is adorable and the smile is so cute. You must be so happy with your precious angel. T-lily your words mean a lot to me and I am grateful for your kindness. Indeed so many of you have supported me already and it really is carrying me through the waiting days. Our world has changed overnight and so I need prayers to ensure nothing stops me from flying to Germany and to also make the way clear for me to return to the US because I have three babies of my own here - my three kitties! They need me too!!
