The Secret Lives of Plants and other interesting plant video

This is a topic that really fascinates me. Do plants have feelings or conscienceness? What do you think?

Do you have a link to a good plant video?

I am curious to know what your thoughts are concerning plant intelligence ... so please share your opinion on this topic!

This must be a taboo topic since no one has posted to this thread.

I, for one, DO believe that plants ... being "alive" ... do have some sort of intelligence. Maybe not on a higher level like humans ... or ... perhaps they are higher than us and we are clueless ... because I do question just how intelligent we really are. Maybe humans are over-rated! LOL! But plants do have some very unusual growth and survival tactics ...

So what is it about gardening that has such a soothing/calming affect on most humans? I am not the only person to say that about gardening. Do plants give off some kind of chemical (serotonin, phenyl ethylamine, etc.) or increase theta brain waves from their smell, or emit some sort of energy that relaxes us when we are around them?

I know that there are no answers, but only theories and beliefs. Plants fascinate me as I am sure they do many of you, too! I would love to hear everyone's theories or beliefs! :-)

I'm totally open minded on the subject Becky, as i think there is a lot more to life that we don't know, compared to what we collectively do!

mind you watching that video made me feel guilty about all the weeds i pulled out today...

Colin - I too get a tinge of guilt when I pull up or kill any plants! LOL!

Here is the link to the entire documentary video:

It is 96 minutes long and was produced/released in 1979.

This is an interesting website about "Psychobotany" : http://www.psychobotany.com/projects/SLOP.htm
