Love the Fuchsia magellanica 'Aurea'. I didn't think it got that big as the one I've had for years is only a foot high. Moved it this year to a sunnier spot and it's doing better. Oh deer - well, you could say the deer did the pinching of the stems, as JasperDale suggested in the other thread, for you. I'm surprised the abundant rabbits on the island haven't taken to your garden.

A neighbour has a rooftop apartment with a good sized garden. He's had his Fuchsia 'Gartenmeister Bonstedt' outside for 4 years and only takes it in during the worst weather. Someone else mentioned similar. I've got one in the garden and I'll try the banana-type protection this winter.

Here's Fuchsia 'Prince of Orange', which kinda looks like 'Joan Cooper'.
